STAM Development is a change management consultancy in Skåne, Sweden. Founded by Awa Karlsson, built around 15+ years of watching strategies fail at the execution stage.
Why STAM Exists
We started where most consultancies stop.
Most consultancies deliver a strategy and leave. Most coaches work with individuals and dont touch the system. Most change managers run process and dont touch the people. We sit in the gap between all three. The place where a strategy meets the people who have to live it. The place most consulting work doesnt reach.
Most organisations dont fail because of bad strategy. They fail because nothing changes after the strategy is written.
The Founder
Awa Karlsson came to this work the long way around.
The Start
She started as an assistant nurse, working with people in the hardest moments of their lives. Lasting change, she learned, only happens when the person owns it. You can not deliver a plan. You can only support someone in building one they will live.
Rehabilitation & Habilitation
From nursing she moved into rehabilitation and habilitation work, helping people rebuild their lives after illness or injury. The same lesson appeared everywhere: the work is not done when the program ends.
Innovation & EU Projects
She moved into business development, then into Innovation Skåne, where she led EU-funded innovation projects across Swedish municipalities and organisations. Brilliant strategies. Real funding. Smart people.
STAM Development
So she built the framework the market was missing. The STAM Model is named after the four people who taught her that real change takes patience, courage, and showing up over and over again. It became the foundation of STAM Development.
